It works quite well but has slightly less reception than the stock wip antenna that comes on the goldwings. I felt it was a good buy for the price and the performance is reasonable. I mounted it under the dash toward the front. I tested it thoroughly on top of the dash and underneath the dash, and it worked exactly the same either place. The dash on this car is made of some kind of urethane, so there is no metal covering it. It works noticeabley better with the amplified wire plugged in. I plugged that wire into my "power-antenna" wire on the radio so that the amp doesn't run when the radio is off. Reception was at least as good as stock antenna.
