It will work at home or a small restaurant. The instructions tell you to press the alarm button (looks like a bell) to set off the alarm, similar to a panic mode. And to press the lightning bolt icon to illuminate the controller in order to check the time or the 2-way reception. Both buttons will activate the alarm if in range, so why two buttons to do the same thing? You are on your own to figure out the installation as the manual is at best inadequate and contradictory. I could not get all the features to work properly. One extra star since the alarm is very loud. At the end of the day I would not recommend this unless I was a bike thief myself. I will be saving for a better alarm. I hide the wires and u have to guess where the box is to disable it. This is on a cruiser so hiding the wires was difficult but possible. Instead of using the horn that comes along with it, i used my add-on air horn so I really have no problems with not being heard. I have not found another system on the market that has all the functions that this one does, not even the $300 one I was tempted to buy. |
